Woodson: Pack will pay prez a visit

President Barack Obama's desire to see his hometown Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLV was not lost on Packers cornerback Charles Woodson after Sunday's 21-14 win at Soldier Field.

"The president don't want to come watch us at the Super Bowl, guess what? We're going to see him," Woodson told the team in the locker room.

Woodson then capped his speech by leading a chant of "White House!"

Steelers' defense quiets Jets to reach Super Bowl

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers advanced to their third Super Bowl in six years thanks to a big-play defense that returned a fumble for a touchdown and staged a late goal-line stand in a 24-19 victory Sunday over the New York Jets.

Pittsburgh, which led, 24-0, in the first half, will face the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl on Feb. 6 in Arlington, Texas. The Packers beat Chicago, 21-14, earlier Sunday.

William Gay went 22 yards after fellow defensive back Ike Taylor sacked Mark Sanchez and the ball came loose. Pittsburgh then stopped New York four times inside the 2 to hang on.

Jay Cutler hurts knee; MRI next

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears eventually turned to Caleb Hanie after starting quarterback Jay Cutler went down with a knee injury, and the third-stringer led the Bears to two touchdown drives in a 21-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

"It's a lonely feeling to fight and go through training camp and everything else and get to this point and have an opportunity to get in the Super Bowl," Cutler said. "It's hard. [There were] so many shots we took earlier in the year and able to bounce back. [To be] in the situation we were and to have things happen like that, it's tough."

Cutler said he will undergo an MRI on Monday.

He said he injured his knee on the second-to-last series of the first half. His status was in doubt leading up to the second-half kickoff with backup Todd Collins even taking warm-up tosses. But Cutler started the second half, throwing an incomplete pass in a three-and-out opening drive.

Defense propels Packers into Super Bowl after Bears lose Jay Cutler

I remember saying at the beginning of these playoffs that whoever wins the Philly-GB game is going to the Super Bowl. Congrats. Kinda ironic though.......the Bears could have prevented this by beating them in Week 17. Karma sucks. Plus the last vision we will see of Brett Favre is him face down, ass up in defeat while his replacement is going to Dallas. Great season.

Defense propels Packers into Super Bowl after Bears lose Jay Cutler

CHICAGO -- There was one Monster of the Midway in the NFC championship game and his name was Aaron Rodgers.

He wasn't even at his best and, still, he was better than the first, the second and the third quarterback used in vain by the Chicago Bears against their bitter rivals.
All Jay Cutler could do was watch, having left the game with a knee injury early in the third quarter. Even before the injury, Cutler was having trouble moving the ball. Worse, he was getting booed by the home fans.
