Notorious B.I.G. murder probe revived
Notorious B.I.G.

Police in California have reportedly revived the investigation into the
murder of rap legend Notorious B.I.G.

Officers at the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI are said to be
actively pursuing new leads relating to the case and working closely with the
L.A. County District Attorney's Office, according to CNN.com. A law enforcement
source tells the network the probe was "reinvigorated" months ago as a result of
new information. The source would not elaborate because of the ongoing
investigation.

The rapper, whose real name is Christopher Wallace, was shot dead in Los
Angeles on March 9, 1997. An investigation was launched immediately after
the shooting, but the matter remains unsolved.

Various conspiracy theories have linked his death to the East Coast/West
Coast rap rivalry involving record companies and their artists. Sean "Diddy"
Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment in New York worked with Wallace, while Death Row,
headed at the time by Marion "Suge" Knight, represented Tupac Shakur. Shakur was shot and killed
in 1996, less than a year before Biggie's death. Shakur's murder also
remains unsolved.

Jim Harbaugh, 49ers agree to deal

Jim Harbaugh agreed to become the San Francisco 49ers' head coach, the team announced Friday.

The 49ers have scheduled a news conference for 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

The deal is worth $25 million over five years, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Earlier Friday, a source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Stanford was the favorite to retain Harbaugh's services.

On Thursday, Harbaugh met with top Stanford officials -- including university president John Hennessey -- so the school could make its best offer. The university reportedly increased an offer it had made to Harbaugh in December.
